We are a 3 star grading self catering, 3 km from Aliwal shoal launch site, situated at Widenham beach, upmarket lodge, fully serviced, next to Umkomaas.We have 9 exclusive cottages. Snorkelling, de. 3 acquiring beautiful sea facing views and 6 acquiring garden facing views.

We have a wide array of great weddings area and have planned and hosted a number of unforgettable wedding events. watch the whales and dolphins swimming past to an unknown destination. After a day in the sun and sea, be back at the lodge to enjoy refreshments arourd the fire, having a lovely South African braai (barbaque) and fellowship with oneanother. Le Paradis Lodge is wonderful and quiet and is situated in a superb location overlooking the beautiful Umkomaas shoreline and the beaches are very clean. The venue with its panoramic view of the ocean and the beautiful gardens surrounding Le Paradis Lodge, lend themselves to photographic opportunities to capture your special moments. We offer a numerous amount of various activities for all groups of people, whether you’re a thrill seeker or hiker we will be able to accommodate you. The reserve boasts a wide variety of different habitats, including scarp forest, extensive grasslands, rivers, wetlands, cliff faces, and dams which provides a haven and shelter for a wide variety of wildlife which exist in the reserve. Due to its wide variety of habitats over 300 bird species have been recorded in the reserve, and it is especially renowned for its wide variety of grass land species. Well worth the slight deviation off the N2, Oribi is a must for hikers and ramblers. The scenery along the gorge, formed by the Umzimkulwana River, is a photographer’s and nature lover’s dream and offers wide panoramic views across the landscape. There haven around 250 different bird species counted in the area, providing ample spotting for the bird-lovers. Weather fluctuations and heavy rain caused sand & shell to dissolve forming calcium carbonate, which is the core of the Shoal. When the sea levels rose, the dune was submerged, and with more deposits of sand, seashells and other reef-building materials, a huge sandstone structure was created. The surface is very rugged with pinnacles, gullies and caves. The shoal has developed into a fascinating dive site with an abundance of soft and hard corals, sponges, and hiding places. This attraction offers a complete wildlife experience for the whole family where you can enjoy over 200 free flying birds in a walk-through aviary, the snake tunnel which houses some of Africa’s biggest and most venomous reptiles, monkeys and a farmyard with animals that kids love. Crocworld’s main industry is the farming of crocodiles for their skins, meat and eggs and is an educational centre for scientific, technical and general knowledge on the world’s species of crocodiles and alligators. Their sheer numbers create a feeding frenzy along the coastline. The run, containing millions of individual sardines, occurs when a current of cold water heads north from the Agulhas Bank up to Mozambique where it then leaves the coastline and goes further east into the Indian Ocean. Have a fun filled day at Lake Eland with activities such as children playground, game drives, horse rides, walking and cycling trials, a challenging 4X4 track and a thrilling walk across the 80 metre suspension bridge. All have 18 holes and are situated close to or directly at the Indian Ocean. Adrenaline seekers will enjoy rides such as the Mamba Tunnel, Toperdo Kamikaze, Zoom Zoom multilane racer, the Drop Zone, Fast River, and the Plunge free-fall slide. The walkway leading to uShaka is lined with all sorts of shops and restaurants so you can grab a bite to eat and pick up some souvenirs.
